AAML’S NEW FREE EVIDENCE BASICS SEMINAR

July 21, 2026July 21, 2026

Since 2015, the Southern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers has annually presented a comprehensive free program, Trial Basics Seminar. We are proud to announce our new companion program, Evidence Basics Seminar. As with TBS, EBS is geared toward family law lawyers with limited trial experience wanting to learn basic evidence principles and related skills from the AAML’s experts. We present EBS to reach out to our community, improve the skills of less-experienced family law lawyers and give back to our profession.

We will present our inaugural EBS by Zoom all day on Friday, October 2, 2026, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

  • Substantial MCLE credits will be provided.
  • Evidence guru, Judge Jackson Lucky (ret.) will moderate.
  • EBS is presented at no charge.

EBS will be a fast-moving event, including approximately twenty presentations throughout the main seminar. The “A-Z” topics range from general concepts of relevance and burdens, documentary and testimonial issues, discovery cross-over considerations, privileges, and practical hearing/trial preparation and strategies.

The AAML was founded in 1962, “[t]o encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the cause of matrimonial law, to the end that the welfare of the family and society be protected.” Our nearly 1,650 Fellows cover all 50 states.

We recognize each family law case has different needs. We respect the availability of various alternative courses of resolution. But if a case cannot be settled, then the consequence is that the courts are there to decide the issues. Our job is to be prepared to expertly litigate those cases to their logical ends.

Anyone interested in attending EBS may Register Here.
